Just got my vets bill from the latest little escapade and that is £1000, added to £6000 for colic surgery three years ago and £6000 for kissing spine surgery last year and about £3000 to breed him including, yes you guessed it with complications!
Funnily enough I havn't named him Lucky!
However on a positive note I had his beautiful mum for 21 years and paid for insurance throughout her life and I reckon young Wills has paid me back for all of the insurance for her life and his!!
Oh yes and he's the grand old age of five, fortunatly I love him lots!!!!!

poor you, i know how it is, we spent nearly £10,000 on colic surgeries 5 weeks apart!!! tbh tho despite the hideous bills we just feel so lucky to still have both our horses and a freindly bank manager!!!! hehehehehe!!!

Blissfully unware...He looks very smug if you ask me! Reminds me of my yearling who is thee most spoilt monster going and always wears this little smug aren't I clever smile....

Thank-god for insurance! I bet they love you..!

Blimey I thought I had expensive taste.Im now up to 2,000 and have only had him 2 yrs .He has done ligament ,cannon bone, tendon ,reared over backwards whilst I was riding him causing internal bleeding and remedial shoeing.Lets hope we both have a bit more luck.My boy is 6 and my first horse so keeping my fingers crossed all the bad injuries are all over.

I hate to think what Cairo has cost over the years in cancer treatments - but I would hazard he is matching your chap - thanks goodness it is every three years now that he needs treatment so I can save up or put it on an years interest free credit card to help.

Hope your chap grows out of his problems and is happy and healthy for the rest of his life.

Well my mares bills for colic have just come in a fraction under £8000, thats for 6 weeks worth of colics and 2 hospitalisations. That is in addition to a £1000 I have already paid in excess and hospital livery !

Over the years she has cost me a small fortune but this one is certainly a record breaker for her !

Thankfully she is insured for £5000 worth of it.
