For those of you who compete and go with friends to competitions and are always up a for a laugh amongst yourselves, basically taking the p*ss out of each other and your horses is just the norm! what would be the most outrageously embarrassing thing you could to possibly do to your horse/yourself (tack/clothing wise etc) that would really make them cringe and pretend they didn't know in the warm up ring?

I commented on a par of sparkly chaps at the weekend, obviously they were very cute on a little girl jumping her pony, I joked that I wanted a pair to which my friend replied that she'd shoot me if I ever even considered it, also noticed a rider with matching boots,saddle cloth and fly fringe (those with ears) although they were of a bright colour and well....not really my thing but we all have our own tastes and dislikes but I thought it would be funny to see what would make you want to shoot your fellow livery if they turned up in something that you considered a big fat NO NO

when at a competition with you.

I need some ideas

Not really along the same lines but had to disown someone went they went into the XC warm up with their reins still caught up in throatlash. That would have been interesting

Although, same bloke, on either a big gangly black horses or chunky cob... XC colours are pink and purple. Get the odd look. Although he refuses to use the pink diamante bridle Hels_Bels bought him at events.

He does hack out in it though

My uncle asked if he could take my horse hunting one boxing day as his horse was lame. I said that was fine and I'd have the horse all ready for him and would take it to the meet. I met him at the meet and had put a big pair of fluffy antlers on the horse, actually sewn them on to the bridle so he couldn't take them off. He was soooo embarrassed and hasn't asked to borrow a horse since!!

One of my friends took her 2yo filly to a show this summer, complete with sparkly blue rhythm beads (horse necklace) and matching beaded clip with feathers on the end in her tail!

i wanted to buy a tweed jacket but my friends said they'd disown me if i bought one! (the tweed jacket was for every day wear...) actually I have to agree with them now - everyone wears them just like dubarry's - and i'd get disowned for buying those too!!

On my old horse I wore black and yellow and everyone took the mick out of me for ages for looking like a bumble bee - boo!!

I think you may be right, I do have pink grooming stuff (which I very much like I freely admit

least nobody tea leafs them!) but it stops at grooming apparell I'm afraid but I'm sure I could buy a few bits and bobs

Would I get away with a pink dressge square in a dressage test?

AND does this mean I need to take photographic evidence for all you guys?

chances of the palo in a nov 30 are slim though! I did buy her a pink sparkly whip for her birthday and figured if I just add to it slowly she won't notice
