either a) I'm turning *****, b) I'm loosing my marbles or c) I've a subconscious desire to be a gaucho...
I broke about 3 of my own little rules about riding tonight... strappy top, shorts
, no chaps, and didn't bother putting the flash, or breastplate on him.
I delayed and delayed going out, as it was too hot for him (he was sweating in our stone set-into-an-earth-bank-stables!) and there's so many roadworks round us at the moment, and loads of people are using our road as the bypass route, so the normally sleepy little village turns into the M1... Grrr.
but apart from one prat it wasn't too bad. When I did decide to go out I couldn't be bothered changing my clothes as I was only going for a short stroll.
I did have a lovely slouch around the block with him, just as the heat had gone out of the day. We only went down to the village, up the hill towards our instructors (taking advantage of the tarmac being sticky instead of like polished ice!) for a trot, and back again, taking the long way back through the village. He didn't even shy at the temporary traffic lights, the cones, signs, holes int road, the barriers or the machinery. He did however startle at some prat who crept up behind us and then rammed the car into first gear and floored it as he pulled level with us. But I don't blame him for that.
he was almost being affectionate afterwards as well, came and put his head with me for an ear rub. very unlike him!
