but I want to ride, I'm starting to miss it especially as its not my choice and I feel guilty that they are not being excercised (they probably don't mind though). What are the chances of me jumping a week sunday, I think it may be wishful thinking.

feel a bit silly though as everyone keeps saying it only a broken thumb.

LOL stop being silly, enjoy the rest before winter comes!! put your feet (and thumb) up and relax!! youll be better in no time! your horseys will have had a nice holiday! (on the other hand you could ride, but be affected by your thumb, school them badly or even not be able to stop if they decide to bog off and then youl have to spend time putting it right!)

hope ur better soon :) x

Injuries that prevent riding are so annoying. Just be careful because you don't want to do anything that'll make it all worse.

Unless you can ride one-handed without any problems of course!

I shut my finger in the car door a few months ago and had to have stitches and a massive bandage around it. I couldnt bend it as it was so swollen and sore.
Needless to say I rode that evening and had a lesson the day after. No way was i letting it stop me riding! lol:D

I did try riding my older one in the school but I had trouble with slowing down so i'm not going to risk it, wouldn't try it with the youngster. Did consider riding one handed as i do that when riding and leading but risky if anything was to happen on a hack and would be unproductive in the school
oh well holiday off riding for a bit longer, don't want to do more damage!
