It's Starting to Get Dark

Must remember to find my badge that says Protect me from Christmas, I see there are cards already on sale. Cannot wait for the catalogues to come flying through the door.
Will be hibernating as from 1st December me thinks!!!

Already bought some Christmas presents....

*runs away very, very quickly :p:D*

You...you..... *words fail for just a sec*

Horror! Get back here right now you!

Why? It's a season of awfulness, punctuated by bad taste, excessive spending, no love lost between family members: it's cold, dark, muddy, depressing, means writing hundreds of cards and rushing round shops: it's materialistic, depressing (ooops! used that one already!)

And and....

(IF YOU TELL ANYONE I LIKE 'NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS', YOU'RE TOAST :D)

On a good note, after posting on here I went to the field to check the horses, that was at 8.50pm, and I finished poopicking att 9.35pm (and I could still see!).

And whoever mentioned Autumn hunting, it's already started in Devon.

And Christmas is cancelled - I'm not going into details but it involves my MIL!!!

Reading all these posts about winter actually makes me want winter... for the first time in my life!
I love clipping and i'll have 2 to do this year :D and loads of cosy new rugs! and of course my brand new hv polo coat I bought in the sale!! And being able to still ACTUALLY ride due to having a menage this year if the surface does as it is supposed to and doesnt freeze :P

Don;t want to wish the rest of the summer away though! still 8 weeks till uni starts again! Have to make the most of the competitions!!

I likes toast I does :D

Christmas is chilled here :D

This year everyone is getting toilets, last year they got Water Aid things :D

I shop. D cooks. M-i-L amuses the girls. It's good :D

And nah :p you used a word twice :eek::rolleyes::D:D

Normally i love winter, clipping, snuggly rugs and hacking out on chilly days with ten layers on and exercise sheets on the neds... watching the babies play in the snow. Taking flasks of tea up to the yard for a chat and a brew with the other liveries........how i loved my gap year.

Now i work all the hours god sends and i most certainly am NOT looking forward to wintering 60 + horses in when the automatic drinkers freeze and the staff dont turn in and the hose freezes while your trying desperately to fill water buckets and all the horses are off their trolleys because the yard is like an ice rink and we cant risk getting them out of their stables! Only up side is that the boss sometimes gives us bacon butties!

X

Same :D

Cant wait for the snow, and stoking up the fire and snuggly nights in. ;)

:

:p I am not waiting for the snow, I know the stuff will come, just wondering how long for and to what depth.

Gah, stoking up the fire, that means hauling in trees, chopping them, splitting them, stacking them and then carting the damn things to the house.

I did not open this thread yesterday.... I wished I'd stuck to me guns.

I've not had my summer hols yet ipso fatso summer ain't over. The wheat has't been harvested yet, still some hay to make, and my garden still has flowers in it!

Goodness me, you lot are sooooo sad.... get yer t-shirt back on and make the most of it!!!

Eh, we haven't had summer yet up in Scotland so refusing to talk about winter yet. Well there were those 2 days in July I suppose. Still darkish here and totally flooded out which has been the story of it really.

I'm with scarymare, we haven't had summer yet! (Other than 3 hot days). I feel cheated

I like to see horses out in fields eating grass and drowsing in the sun, not cooped up in a stable. I like waking in the light and having an evening after work to get out and about. Pulling on a tee shirt and not looking like michelin woman in 15 layers. And not having to pour money into the open arms of the energy companies to keep the house warm. Pouring money at the feed merchants isn't much fun either. And mud

Nope you can have your winter if you want it, I'm sticking with summer for a while yet :)

Lol MM :D

As to those without Summer, or worried that it is ending too soon, I'm sat in a pool of sunlight, warm and comforting :D

Bit of a bobber that I'm still at client's site and the sun is coming through the window, but at least it's packing up for the day time and I can mooch off home to catch a few rays before falling asleep in a corner :D
