It's that time again - Blair roll call!

Woo hoo came back online this morning to see LOADS of people are coming! I've decided to hold fire on my entries until after I jump this weekend, but was talking to shouty man about it last night and the conversation was "4 weeks today we'll be en route if not there already!". Think we're possibly going to have to shoot off sharp on the Sunday as we might have a runner at Perth that afternoon but no great stress.

Will be lovely to put more faces to names and of course catch up with the usual suspects. I'll PM my mobile/stable number nearer the time to anyone who wants a point of contact in the BSJA camp!

Now everyone start the 'rain rain go away' dance...x
 
For all of those that have offered to help with my pony perhaps as well as the Nicola Wilson story I should also share with you the XC morning story ..... XC morning my friend took him out for a small leg stretch and a pick of grass. All was good until she heard a squeal and looked up to find he had erupted , he then he took off at great speed across the grazing area and jumped the ropes on to the XC. He was finally caught by a member of the CCI*** ground jury - how embarrassing! But it was ok as the ground jury man said Hugo was inspecting the CCI** jumps and since I was in the CCI* he did not feel that the horse would benefit so would not elim him for having prior knowledge of the course.

My trips to Blair really are a comedy of errors!

Ooops that is a bit embarrassing! I've had some moments at Blair, usually involving being very unceremoniously dumped in fences - can think of at least three occasions that I've parted company rather sooner than expected. A couple of years ago (when it was so horrible they cancelled day 1 of the BSJA) I was jumping in the small ring on the Sunday morning. I had Jack at the time and he'd warmed up like a wee sweetheart but he came into the first fence and jumped it like it had fire breathing dragons under it, then promptly dumped me into the water tray at number two and ******ed off round the ring bucking and farting and squealing. Narrowly avoided hopping over the rope thankfully, to say I was mildy unamused would be an understatement.

Come to think of it that was the same year they let the BSJAers use the eventing warmup field on the Friday and Jack disgraced himself by bucking, squealing, spooking and generally being an arse for 45 minutes solid before I got any sensible work out him much to the amusement of some lovely eventer types I spent the whole time apologising profusely to for my normally docile creature's delinquent behaviour!

Bonzo's slightly better behaved, honest (just in case anyone wants to come and pole pick/film/laugh...)x

Echo at the vets as we speak(type) getting his leg that he knocked at Eglinton checked out. Sound but still slight bump so Blair entry dependant on what the Quack says in about 30 mins time:(

Not much concentration from me at work.....................

GUTTED!!

Due to hutton being rained off, we didnt quite make our qualifications :( So no Blair for Shauny and I! Going to Osberton 1* instead i hope...so cant take time off over Blair!

Cant wait to hear your drinking and of course eventing/SJ reports :P

I'm going too! Probably the only show cob doing the novice and rc working Hunter, so will be easy to spot! Friday to sunday I'm a ring steward on one of the show jumping arena as my other half is course building

I managed to get time off work so I could go, but just had the bill from the garage for my 4x4 repairs so now I might have to rethink. :(
 
Sorry for the delayed reply, have to go to work to have time for HHO:o;)

Very sadly no Blair for us this year. Echo was found to have strained ligaments around his knee. Nothing too bad but been prescribed 2 months rest which in effect is the season finished for him.

Wonderfully practical (not:eek:) advise from the vet..... box rest with a lead out everyday down to stand up to his belly in the sea. Errrr yeah right, like he is going to quietly pootle down & do that when he is on box rest. He was bucking IN his stable yesterday when I just put the headcollar on. So, I think we might have to think up our own regime:confused:

Hope everyone has a fab time & we will shut our eyes to all Blair posts:p

Very sad to hear Echo can't make it to Blair this year, will just need to make his debut at CCI** next year instead...?!

Fingers crossed that he behaves himself enough to heal asap. Good luck fighting over Boris for the rest of the season...! ;)
 
I am so looking forward to it, passes and tickets arrived on Friday, suddenly it seems closer

Friend is doing the side saddle class on thursday so will be polishing pone for her and another friend has her daughter doing the first ridden class on friday so will have the camera out for that.
 
There's a major expedition from our yard for XC day, but some of us may be camping too...wouldn't want to miss you in action, smurf!

Have shopping list, will travel...

What happened?

Looks like this'll be the biggest Scottish clique HHO outing ever! We must really try hard to all get together at some point, even if it's only for a swift drink in the beer tent!
