It's that time again - Blair roll call!

Went to jump at Burgam and my horrid horse stood on its hind legs for about 90% of the time and didn't even make it to the jumps :@!!!
Im hoping Blair will not be a repeat of this but i suppose he is still young and hasnt been to the big outdoor shows etc!
Will you be a Rowallan on Sun?
Q

Hoping to get there either Saturday or Sunday, if my area are still looking for a 1m horse I'll go on the Sunday to make up numbers for the team but reckon they'll be sorted out by now. Actually would like to go both days for mileage purposes, but it gets so expensive!

Sounds like pony was naughty, sure Blair will be fine - you can go for a ride round on the Thursday to let him take it all in without the pressure of jumping fences x

Will see you on Sunday then :) Might do that on the Thurs evening not feeling to positive about it though :( Its alot of money to waste as well if he dosent play ball :(

Poor Quadro. Perhaps he took stage fright and now he's had time to digest the experience he'll settle at Blair. Fingers crossed.

Our bay girl came to us with the reputation of being a handful at outdoor shows but once we for her into the warmup at Blair last year she was fine and settled to her job in the ring. We wondered how she would be at Strathallan, her first big show on grass this year, and she was perfect - or perfect for her! So, continued exposure may well help, and we'll
all be there to lend support :)

I think it was more stage fright as when we actually got to the jumps he jumped them!! It was a real "big ring" atmosphere which im hoping blair wont have so much! Thank you, though i may have to take you up on that :)
Q

Well if someone wanted to take my black horse (biggest donkey going!!) for a hack with him it might help although not sure if then he would get stressed when they were seperated :( Having a hate horses day can you tell?? :)
Q

anyone who's jumping please be sure that myself and a couple of friends are stewarding showjumping so some bribery will assure that poles are glued onto cups for your round haha :p

Im the one with the horse standing on its hind legs and reversing at 40mph before going into the ring and doing the same whilst in there :(
Q

They should give you number 666 like I had last year - it became somewhat a standing joke as B was the original dope on a rope all weekend despite it being his 4th ever show and first ever on grass!

It will be dry & sunny, It will be dry & sunny, It will be dry & sunny, It will be dry & sunny, aim high!!! :D

agree.gif

Now guys don't be greedy - just dry will do! Been keeping an eye on Metcheck (Met office is too generalised and depressing) and it looks like there'll be some rain weekend/next week but then looks like it'll be fairly dry up till the Wednesday of Blair at least with some high pressure moving in - fingers crossed it sticks around till the Sunday..

They arrived at 1am this morning so better ride them first! :D

Yeah that might be a good plan - you're leaving it later than even I did with B last year ha ha! We had a newbie arrive last night too, can't wait to meet him when I get down the yard tonight (was running too late this morning to sneak across to the other side of the yard for a look!). Have you had anything back from Blair yet or will they not send out until entries shut on Friday?

I haven't had anything at all but still to book a second stable & both newbie and Saffy's entries - only her stable booked so far. Will need to fax them tomorrow or Friday at latest as may take new people to clear round SJ tomorrow night.

What is your new one like?

New one isn't mine, it's a new racehorse. All I know is he's a chestnut gelding and he's won a couple of chases. Oh and that by the sounds of it he'll be a bit on the sharp side...

Sure they'll be fine with your entries when you've already booked a stable. If you speak to them do a bit of detective work and see how many they've got booked lol - give us an idea of numbers!x
