It's that time again - Blair roll call!

I think it was 07, I'm sure we had Sherman at the time.

Forecast looks rubbish this week but not too bad for next week :D

Does anyone know what's the best time to get there so the traffic etc is not too busy?

I'm going with some friends and they plan is to leave the yard at 9am which with a 2 hour drive I think is a bit late.

Managed to bag myself some free tickets and parking passes because the company I work for is a big sponsor this year - result!

You def need to leave earlier - if I was coming to spectate I'd want to be there for 9am. It's a big site, even walking the xc will take up a fair bit of time and there's a huge amount to see and do. Don't know about traffic/queues etc but that A9 isn't the best road ever, give yourself plenty time!

Ditto Jen, cars usually start arriving in a steady stream from 7am.

Unfortunately I'm not the one driving so I'm at the mercy of the designated driver but I have suggested we head off earlier so that we can make the most of the day!

I'd advise you start suggesting with a big stick lol! Just tell them if they're in sharp they can get the added bonus of laughing at me trying to jump some fences before you all wander out to the XC...xx

My passes came in yesterday woo hoo! And I'm a better number than last year's 666...
Shame the weather is crap and yet again it's looking likely to be a total mudbath. Today's online shopping will be for a pair of boots!

What number are you Jen? Im 20 and 21. Weather forecast is better for next week but ill def be taking wellies etc and several waterproof jackets so i can have them on rotation!!
Q

I think I'm number 64 (might be 65?). Forecast looks ok for the weekend itself but the damage will be done already to the ground - I'm thinking mud of 2008 proportions... I would assume that if your lot are 170/171 Measles there are gonna be a lot of horses there, and probably at least 120 of them will be jumping in the Disco/1.05m classes!

I've heard a lot of people didn't get stables, esp the ones for showing classes. Friend is desp for 3 if anyone has any they don't need..

Zillions in the Disc's as usual I'm sure. We're planning to be up bright and early and in for the best of the ground.

Looking at the weather forecast and speaking to my dad who lives up that way they havent had the rain that we have had, seems to be more in the south so fingers crossed it won't actually be that bad!!
Will get my dad to keep us updated!!

Looking at the long range forecast it looks quite good for next week. I hope its dry for the run up as the lorries make such a mess when they have to get towed in for the start of the week.
I'm there Thursday but plans have changed and I've got 2 tickets for sale, valid for anyday, looking for £9 each if anyone is looking. :)

Quadro you must have heard differently to us, we were meant to be taking photos at a show about 30 minutes from Blair tomorrow and saturday but its been cancelled. They have had so much rain the river is coming up through the field.
Heading up there later this afternoon, might have a mosey across that way during the weekend.

Quadro I'm liking your weather report better lol! It's a funny wee microclimate once you get up into the hills, I know Perth had it bad last weekend but the weather can totally change once you start to head on up the A9 (usually the clouds get bigger and blacker...). I'm a total obsessive geek with the weather for it so been Met Checking religiously and have even been keeping an eye on the traffic cameras to see what the weather's up to (sad I know!). At the big bridge at Perth it looks absolutely miserable, but Drumochter pass looks dry. Blair is closer to Drumochter than it is to Perth IIRC, so preferring to go with that one!

If they get properly organised and refuse to let people drive on willy nilly and have a sensible parking operation running it could all be fine bar one really bad bit on the way in, unfortunately it never seems to quite work that way and to be honest it wouldn't be a job I'd fancy doing much. But think how good it would be if everyone got made to park up in sensible rows...

I think the showing stabling is always over subscribed, if I hear of anyone dropping out I'll flag it up!
