We haven't had any rain for 4 whole days! (Almost.) The mud is firming up, my field shelter is looking respectable again and the yard is properly swept with my new brush instead of the bald old thing I was battling with. Stable floors are bone dry. Total luxury after the last few months. I know the forecast says possible snow next week but I'm just enjoying the cold and DRY right now.

The Herdies and the goats can now pad across the top of the nice, solid ground to come and get their feed instead of sloshing miserably through the mud. I even managed a ride yesterday after 5 weeks off thanks to flu and Christmas. Long may it last.

Makes you really value the small things - no wind or rain here for a good few days (Yorkshire) and I agree it is blissful
It's been wet today in this part of Yorkshire! Miserable, grey, foggy drizzle, except for a couple of hours in the early afternoon.
But at least the ground is firming up..

My fields had 2 lakes in them last week this week they look almost dry we have had days of sun and wind so it's lovely, just waiting for the dump of snow that will probably now be on the cards 😆
I’ve only this evening been told about the expected snow next week 😩
Seriously hope not, mine are still out overnight but snow will put an end to that for sure

I know not looking forward to snow mine are still out most nights as well, they come in at night in snow as I have hard standing that gets really slippery so won't risk it.

Annoying isn't it 🙄
