Glad to hear that episode 2 is more behind the scenes.

I enjoyed episode 1 and can totally see why the race was chosen to show due to it's many stories - Shiskin will he start issue and the stumble, Frodon's last race and Hewick's little yard beating the big boys. However as I had seen the race at the time and did remember the issues/result I am hoping for other things to be shown in the remaining episodes.

Although I had seen the race I loved the in depth look at each bit. ( I know we can all think differently!). My OH really enjoyed it too, although he does watch the racing a bit.
The only down for me was Shark being made out to be an all round good egg when we know that when Hewick is done it’ll be out with the chip and off to pies.

Yes I struggled with that too, used to think he was a decent guy too

I watched it and got the distinct impression it really is aimed at the non racing brigade, to try and tempt them in. It didnt show or tell me anything I didnt know really and it didnt grip my attention as I hoped it would. Will watch the next one and see. I know ITV are trying to drum up interest in the sport and that is to be encouraged, we need more followers, but Im not sure this programme will do it

Ive watched all 3 episodes now and have enjoyed it, however I really think they have missed a trick if they are trying to tempt new blood in. I would have thought they could have highlighted the syndicates like Owners Group for example to show how accessible racing is to the general public. I think I paid £48 for a share in Stage Star and he not only won the Challow Hurdle but the Paddy Power at Cheltenham. We must not forget Pentland Hills who won The Triumph.
I hope in future episodes they show the work of the stable staff and their dedication, also racehorses being retired after they have finished racing which is something that might concern some people. That is something I really love about Owners Group, they put a lot into finding the right homes for their retirees and the ones that cant be ridden anymore are kept at their wonderful facilities at Equiprep which is like a 5 star hotel for horses.

I fully intended to watch this, but life got in the way. Switched over tonight after the Olympics, have been watching for 20mins and have seen myself twice 🙈. Once riding on the gallops at Cheltenham and once in the stable yard. I might stop watching again now! 🙈🙈

Wondered if you were on screen. Were you leading the other horse behind GDC. The Mullins string at Cheltenham is fab. You’d never tell seeing GDC walking round what an incredible horse he is. Had forgotten the gold cup he fell at the last in.

That was the Turners Novice he fell at the last fence in. I had our other runner in that race and was standing with Adam when he fell. Very stressful times!

He did jump the last ok though, went a couple of strides and then went down. I thought at the time it was the ground that caused him to fall.
