Hacking out this Morning..merrily jabbering away to the pony when I hear a "errr is it ok to come past "
..great once again a cyclist crept up on me as I'm literally having a full on convo ...to the horse...
**note to self** seriously check for other humans before having pretend conversations with the horse :)

Haha, ive had this happen a couple of times when I'm chatting to Ethel or singing along to my iPod. Doesnt half make you feel like a muppet! :p

I always thank my car when I get home. Without him I am stuffed, cant get to horses, cant get anywhere. Bus service where I live is almost non-existant. I shall continue to talk to my car in the hope he will remain kind and willing!

I was walking to work one day and saw two mallards. I sang unthinkingly 'hello ducky-ducky quack-quack'
Cue a cyclist going past giving me a strange look.

I was in my local feed shop last week with OH when behind us we heard a lady making whistling/clucking sounds then a 'come on' she saw us glancing around for her dog and informed us she was talking to her shopping trolley! She scuttled off quickly after that!

I had a full on argument with my mare the other day when I was lunging, she was responding with snorts/bucks/throwing her front legs about .. Only realised about half way through someone was standing by the barn giggling away :o :p

I've given up worrying. I have a tall fence about 20ft from my stable, with someone's garden on the other side. They're regularly treated to me telling Chloe to stop being such a girl, telling Henry he's an ar5ehole (stealing Chloe's food or chasing her away), cheeping at the finches, talking to the pheasants. I'll know I've gone too far when I feel the tranquiliser dart in my thigh. :D

Haha!! Love these! I also love talking to the animals (much better listeners than humans are- only the dog ever answers back :p ) but I must admit I always have a glance around before talking too loudly on a hack! :D

lol i'm always talking to the horses and dogs, i spend a lot of time alone with them so rather than be in complete silence i have a one sided conversation with them:) it has now spread to the hoover, who is a Hettie hoover, she very often gets told to keep up and stop messing about when she refuses to follow me round corners and through doorways!!:o nearly dropped her down the stairs the other day and found myself saying' ohh sorry hetty love, that was a close one' much to OH's amusement:rolleyes:

same!!

except when he breaks and needs shouting at... :D

i also talk to my horse haha "good day.... you been a good girl today". etc.... i obviously dont expect a reply but it makes me feel better :D :D

oh but my dog i have full on convos AT.... least she amuses me by looking in my direction trying to grasp words such as "food.....walk....garden.....teatime" :D lol

I did this only the other day!!
Me and Star out on a lone hack, at this point having a good old chat about sheep and how they aren't as scary as she thinks.... Cue cyclist swifly going past looking at me as if I am insane after realising that no, I am not on the phone :D

I always talk to the animals, car and items i lose eg. if i cant find my pen at work ill rummage around caliing 'come on pen, where are you? i cant see you?!' I was also most worried when my dog came into the hallway and i asked her what the weather was like  I was expecting an answer too :o Must socialise with more 'normal' people in the future!! x

:D:D:D
Loving these and making me feel a bit more normal - I talk to everything. My best one was talking to a cat outside someone's front door as I approached slowly so I didn't scare it (it was its home, not mine, after all) - only to find it was a pair of wellies!!

Pan

Slightly off in a different direction but I get told off by my sister for clicking and telling my niece and nephew to walk on if we out somewhere and they stop dead in front of me - I get told "they are not horses you know" :D:D...

Ha Ha these are so funny!
Im so glad Im not the only one, I often talk to the hoover or random objects!
then I end up saying to myself out loud " why the hell are you talking to the hoover" and then why the hell am I talking to myself!

my youngest child who is four often says to me "walk on mummy" or "halt"

Have to say I think it's completely normal to talk to anything with a name, including the hoover! My car gets spoken to on a regular basis, wouldn't like him to feel left out since I talk to absolutely everything else after all!

Anyone else got a name for their car? Before I decide I really am totally weird!;) x

I do that too, to my OH. He also tells me off for trying to half-halt him when I'm holding his hand.

I walked into a doorframe once and automatically apologized to it :rolleyes: lol

Im always taking to my horses, my neighbours probably think im totally crackers but i dont care, Id hate to be normal, cant think of anything more awful. :D

Oh wow it's not just me then :) it's the second time actually it happened , which prompted me to do the thread ! Funnily enough I literally can't stop myself doing it...tonight for eg we had " oh look polo it's a little foal, hello mr foalie well aren't you just adorable" and " yes I know, that purple car with the loud exhaust WAS scary wasn't it , but you were such a good girl to stand still" I mean what an earth...every so often an ear flicks back but I think mostly she ignores me :)

me and my friend took the horses out in the sun for a few hours on wednesday,, we had some music playing and we were singing/dancing around (awfuly as well) and to make things even better Mo's fly fringe had fallen off angel so she had wrapped it around her face over her helmet :D when a rather amused cyclist came past and said 'nice dancing girls i expect to see you on tv soon :o then as if that wasn't enough to make us stop we carried on and a hot guy drove past and pulled in to let us past. he was smiling goofily at us so we got all excited and giggly, it was only 20 minutes later when we got back to the yard we realised he was probably just laughing at us:(

hehe - love these...I often sing Old Macdonald had a farm to my friends youngster out hacking as she is scared of cows (and we have to pass load of them).

Have had some very strange looks from dog walkers and families having picnics!

I also do the 'walk on' thing with my 3yo!! always makes me chuckle.

I always talk to my horse and whilst riding use my voice to control her speed, tell her off as I don't use crops for punishment (she fully understands what i mean by ******* Off now :P ) I also use '1..2..3..jump!' when jumping and have often found myself saying this rather loudly at shows. she is very used to my voice now and fab on the lunge :D

Although I regularly get told off for giving my friends a kick when not going fast enough in piggy back races.. when i was little my mum would say 'aaand stand' at the road side , tell me to 'walk on' and i have found myself clicking to younger children to speed them up!

Glad I'm not alone. I always talk to the horse in my lessons. Recently after spending a whole hour saying 'easy, good boy' to a particularly anxious horse I ride I found that I was driving back going really slowly, to the annoyance of cars behind me. I've also found myself saying 'gee up' to the car after a lesson on one of the lazybones.
