all because i fell off the horse tonight. Mom wont let me jump until after my brothers wedding as im a bridesmaid and will give me hell if i turn up in a plaster cast but as i tried to tell her it was just one of those things, he clipped the jump frightened himself, put in a mini buck, i lost my balance and went thud, with a capital THUD!!!

lol not sure whether i have broken my thumb, hurts like sh*te, lovely and swollen and cant bend it its on my right hand and yup im right handed grrrrr. Also my left thigh is tender and slightly swollen from where i landed and have a very nice bruise forming and also have a nice one forming on my right shin. Still being the complete fruit loop

i am got back on (dad didnt want me too) trotted round for a bit and jumped one final jump just to finsh on a good note (one handed btw), he jumped lovely

so called it a day then had the task of untacking him, hmmmm now that was interesting.
 
can i join in the bruise gallery??? i have a nice big bruised down my leg where i caught it on my stirrup as i jumped out the side door on sunday????

i'm banned from jumping at the minute to so i do feel for you
(espially as i'm a jumping nut) i've gone cold turkey :-(
 
At least you guys were doing something decent when you got hurt.
I am currently sporting a raher large bruise over my left knee and thigh....I tripped over the cat

ouch haha, to keep your parents happy maybe do what they say? just for a bit.
or on the other hand, you can be sneaky like me and just jump anyway! haha.
mum didnt want me to ride my friends nutcase horse the other week, as it broke my collar bone and had chucked me off sooooo many times, so i told her i was just riding mine, but i did tell her after, i said i rode tommy today, she was like charlotte charlotte! you shouldnt have blaaaaaa haha.
he's a good boy now though, he was only a baby before!

Well an update... after spending all morning in a&e with a very sore thumb it turns out i have a chipped bone ouch, wich could take up to six weeks to fully heal double ouch. Its a shame as we were just getting back into the jumping and yes sooooo not worth the hassle before the wedding, but they havent stopped me riding all together, so can still do flatwork and hacking, better than nothing i spose!

Oh and sorry shaz would have loved to have come, i'm sure i could have persuaded them, but if you still want company i'm more than happy to be a bystander...?

oooh, in that case I have a cracking scar from 7 years ago. The horse I was riding decided that bolting into the path of an oncoming car and launching me into the windscreen and over the roof was the thing to do...

Scar (skin graft) currently measures 6 inches by 5 inches and then a 10 inch line about half a cm wide where I ripped my leg open..

OP: bad news about your thumb, at least you can still ride though! If, you do jump without your folks knowing just be sure to keep it low key and easy!!

Not related to your post. Just interested in your picture of the dark pony with light muzzle 4th along.

I have a New Forest pony who looks identical. I sometimes think my pony is an Exmoor cross. Would you mind letting me know what breed he/she is.
