I've Been Well And Truly Ripped Off....

Not sure why the seller clearing their account out ha any effect on the refund. PayPal will still take the funds putting the seller into a negative balance. Has the seller closed their account? I'd be ringing PayPal.

I've emailed them following an email which says:

The refund sent by (sellers detials and email address) did not clear from the sender's bank. You have not received funds for this payment in your PayPal account.

Please contact (sellers name) regarding this refund.

HSBC will raise a visa dispute for debit cards. Used to work there and raised hundred of these

Good Luck and PM would be appreciated

Thank you for the info I've emailed HSBC but wonder if it will make a difference that the transaction went via PayPal? Would you happen to know at all please?

Dont Know about PM`s The Bast**** should be Named and Shamed
I agree but think it's against the forum rules if I'm not mistaken.

PM's sent to all who have asked - thanks.

Do they have '4U2' in the eBay name? If so, had a terrible time with them and am also barred from ever buying again.

don't give up on paypal either,

I had someone rip me off, paypal couldn't get my money back due to insufficient funds

about 3 years later the people who ripped me off must of thought it was ok to use paypal again but paypal had other ideas and snaffled their funds to pay me back :D

so it took about 3 years to get my money back and I had written it off, so it was a nice surprise ... all good things come to those who wait

Please could you PM me too?

I remember my dad once buying my sister some model ponies on a well known pony toys website, paid out over £100 for her Christmas presents and they never arrived. Don't think he got any back either!

Please could you let me know the company too, have just 'bought' something from up that neck of the woods and am now worried that it may be the same company
Thanks

Normally my advice would be to ring your bank and tell you want to speak. To their visa debit disputes team.....but I know how much of a disaster HSBC's telephone banking is so on that note I would pop into your local branch and ask there.

I can guess who. I tried to buy something many moons ago, tookmmonew item not in stock with no delivery date. Raised dispute and got my money back but was subsequently barred from trying to but from them again

Why would you want to get bitten again?

I would definitely chase paypal - I thought the whole point of them was that they have your bank account details so can remove money from your bank account rather than wait for paypal funds???!!!

Thanks for all the really helpful info. I have been in touch via email (really busy today so no time to hang on to the phone waiting for the right department or visit the branch) with HSBC - waiting reply. I also replied to PayPal along the lines of that they can't simply wash their hands of this as their logo says "buy safely, buy with confidence" or something to that effect and if they don't do more but allow this individual to continue trading in my book at least they are not only condoning fraudulent behaviour but enabling it. Waiting for a reply from PayPal to that one!

Leviathan I have PM'd you who it is. I get tons of value from reading the nuggets found on this forum I really don't want to risk being blacklisted or similar for naming and shaming if it's against the rules.
