Well, Rosie and I are now entered for our first ever dressage competition!

Only thing is, I've realised now that we've never really practised halting

, so any advice to to teach a square halt to my horse would be apreciated!
I also think that the bit I ride her in may not be dressage legal, but can't find the rules.

She's in a double jointed loose ring copper snaffle, purely because that was the only bit we that that fits her dinky head (4 3/4in) and she's happy in it, but I don't want to get disqualified, so please tell me if I need to get another one!

Unfortunately British Dressage have updated their site. The rules used to be available on their site however that link no longer exists so it appears to be a case of finding someone with a rule book or ordering one yourself...sorry

If the bit is made completely of copper then it is legal, as BD like bits to be made all of one material, i.e. all stainless steel, all happymouth, all copper etc, but no copper rollers on a stainless steel mouthpeice, no copper strips etc.
