I've developed my list of events again, with help from my regional JRN co-ordinator, and thought maybe you guys could maybe help me ammend it further? I'm gonna put the events I've never been to in red. If you have been there, then could you give me an idea of what it's like there? Cheers

The Somerley PN track is new next year i think but the Novice is generally a lovely inviting course so hopefully that'll be similar.

Can't help on the others i'm afraid but i'm going to aim to do Aldon PN 3day at the end of the season too, should be loads of fun!!!

longleat is a strong XC track.
SJ causes some problems to i think.
put it this way, out of a normal sized section i had a 45 dressage, 9 SJ, and was still 11th because clear xc inside the time

gatcombes lovely, if your qualified and done well XC and SJ the CIC* will be fine.
its pretty straightfoward, only varies from the nov in 2 or 3 places.

Would say you will be running on minimum qualifications iirc the new QR rules. Think the rules have been changed. I had a full season of big novices - Chatsworth, Burnham, Gt Witchingham....I would say as Gatcombe so similar to nov, save the * for next season.

Purston was meaty and technical.

Thanks guys

Maybe it would be a good idea to step down a level at Purston then. I am not expecting Longleat to go swimmingly, and it might give us both a bit more confidence to go back down. I spoke to my JRN co-ordinator about my first novices etc, and she said that if I'd done novice tracks at Hambleden, Smith's Lawn, and Pontispool, then she wouldn't think that I was underprepared for Longleat. SHe said it's not a good first novice, but if I've done a few, then I should stand more of a chance.

I don't struggle with XC as much as the other 2 phases, Big SJ trebles are my downfall, although she does go better outisde with more space. Is the arena for SJ at Longleat nice and big? I'm also not too worried about timings etc, as I can take Tam round a course at 520mpm easily. Only problem is that when I do that at BE100 I get time faults!

Thanks for all your help, folks, you are super as usual!

its a good idea to mix with the the levels as if you have one or two bad runs then you want to be able to step back down to PN then get happy there again

I know people who've been to purston and said the BE100 is a meaty track but the N is huge plus it may also be worthwile doing a mid season BE100 as a bit of a 'let your hair down and have some fun not

'
i know milton keynes is a long way from oxford
but they have an Unaff. 3DE around there novice course in may [the last weekend] so if you want 3DE experience that is the best place to go

I know about the MK3DEs, I heard they are really good, but I've been advised by JRN C-ord. and feel that it's really important to take her advice. I didn't realise they did a novice 3DE. One to bear in mind for the future, t-so thanks for telling me. I thought they only did it up to PN.

Also, just for fun, who will I be seeing at those events? Just for fun
