Ive gone and done it, bought a Highland pony

Drove over to Suffolk today to see a pony and absolutely fell in love with him. Have had several long chats with his owner over the last couple of weeks and felt like I knew him already but in the flesh, he was stunning, a beautiful dapple grey and such a gentleman. I want him as a hack and to escort my grandchildren out and about and today I went for a ride around the lanes where he lives, nothing bothered him and he was so comfy to sit on, a truly beautiful boy. So, I just have to sort out a few bits and pieces this end and he is being delivered some time next week. So excited!! Thanks to all who replied to my posts last week with their Highland stories, you helped me make up my mind.
 
Oh, congratulations! You`ll never regret buying a Highland - they`re the best! But then I might be ever such a little bit biased given that I have such a lovely example of one! What`s your pony`s name and how is he bred? Just interested so please don`t answer if you don`t want to!

Aw, want to go up and hug my boy now after reading your lovely post!

I think Highlands are meant to be owned in multiples.

If you have one, it will be lonely. (They only speak Gaelic so need another Highland companion to talk to).

But, if you only have two, the one left behind will be lonely when you take one out of the field. So you really need three. Minimum.

Thanks everyone :) DR Ive just shown my OH your helpful post and he has fainted!! New pony will be joining my retired retired racehorse (who is Irish on his Dads side) and our little shettie, Im thinking the two Scots bred ponies may be able to understand each other and Che will just wander off scratching his bum a lot!! I do have some pics from his old owner but dont think I should post until he arrives home, also his breeding, I wont give it all away but his Dad is Clandon Moriarti. I am so excited and have started planning our long hacks already :)
 
One of my "victims" drives her ponies. I think with a bit of logic we convinced her the smallest number of Highlands she could have and not be cruel was eight....

Highlands also make wonderful driving ponies. Just a hint.;)
 
OH now trying to work out how to put DryRot on USER IGNORE!!! Actually I long rein both my two, I love it, the TB is brill at it, he can do some lovely work loose without me hindering him, the shettie is a LR pony so she finds it a bit odd not having anyone to follow but is gradually getting more confident. Do you think I could drive a triangle shape, the Highland marching in front and the odd couple behind!!!! JOKE just in case DryRot is still here.
