I had an interview last week for a job working on a yard, and he asked me to work today to see how I am to work with, I find out if I have a job first week of September.
So today I have done 10 hours, and I forgot how much I enjoy working on a yard.
I started off mucking out the stallions box, and then just brought some horses in and tacked up. He then asked me to ride so he can see what I'm like. I rode a lovely horse called Billy, and I thought he would say my riding wasn't up to scratch (I'm good at putting myself down) he said I'm a good rider just have a few issues to iron out.
So then I spent a few hours doing general yard work.
He asked me if I had any experience of breaking in, I dont. So I had my first go today

I lunged first, and found that I'm too soft on horses, I couldn't get him moving, so I was showed how to make her respect me, and then all was fine. So then i did the usual leaning across the saddle while she walked, and eventually I sat on her. She was so good, acted like she had been ridden loads, when she hasn't been ridden for a long time, she was backed and turned away and I'm first to ride her in a long time

I knew I liked working with horses but had forgotten how much
