Hacked out with my friend. After I'd left her and was on my way home, I noticed a field gate was open from the road. I sloped into the field and had a good old canter/gallop around the perimeter. 12 acre field.

What a blast. Why have I never done that before?

My uncle was complaining about the mess I've made all over the place, as we were shepherding the sheep today, from cantering and galloping everywhere

so I said I'd do some harrowing and rolling

You can't beat it can you? Such a great feeling.

Had my first canter on Sam post leg break today- cantered round and round the school with such a big smile on my face. He seemed to enjoy it too- bet Patches enjoyed her gallop!

Because nowadays the field margins are worth more than the field!!

LOVE IT! That is why I go on fun rides!

(BTW I think you ought to confirm for people that it was one of YOUR fields, and not just a random one!)

Arrr did you spot my sneakiness. I was wondering if anyone would shout at me for riding on some poor farmers fields!

Yup, we'd been rolling on the farm and the gate to the road of this field was left open. Only a few fields have direct access from the road.

Mind you, today's best fun is now today's not so good fun.....

She's just trodden on my foot. The outside of my foot has gone very purple instantly and I've got a farm ride tomorrow, plus another in two weeks!

You had a canter? You're back riding?????

HOW DID I MISS THAT?????????

Oh don't worry you are not far behind- had first ride on him last night (just plodded in walk, did a bit of trot all mostly without stirrups). Got back on tonight and did a bit more, had a lovely canter or two (maybe three actually).

Leg is holding up quite well, have just lost all my muscle tone/strength!

That's wonderful news to hear you're back in the saddle. Well done!

How long is it since you broke your leg? I was thinking you were still on box rest! Does this mean you're not selling after all?

It will be 10 weeks on Sunday.

Doing SO well, coming on in leaps and bounds. Don't even walk with a limp most of the time now.

WAY ahead of schedule.

Sam is still for sale. But I change my mind daily and I'm in no rush. He is so safe and sensible on the flat, he'll be perfect for the next few months.
