I keep two of my gorgeous 4-legged creatures at home, I don't have horsey parents/family, I do all the work myself
I am off to uni end of September so my problems begin
what am i going to do with them?
I have had them nearly 11 years, adore them, one is nearly 30 a little tempermental but lovely
the other sadly has arthritis in her front legs
and is 16yo, a total sweetie! It would break my heart to sell them and think it would be unfair on them considering their age/condition.
Loaning scares me in the sense of will i ever see them again? I know you can draw up loan agreements but not everyone sticks to them? I would be worried if they were being looked after properly
I could leave them at home and pay someone to come in and check rugs feed etc but then what if said person suddenly stops coming? plus I'd have to find extra cash to pay them!
Thirdly, they could live out with no field shelter in my Dad's fields at his house but I don't get on well with him at all . We have gone 18 months without any contact before!
Most of our land is rented so once I give up the fields, I can't go back
On the other hand, I could live at home (instead of living near uni) and keep them
but then I miss out on uni life etc
It is making me feel all teary already!
