Just a pointless moan, but may make me feel better - so sorry!! I've had to withdraw from Shipton Moyne Intro. Was so happy to have actually got in as it was one of my favourite events a couple of years ago. My horse has punctured her sole on a nail after half pulling a front shoe off - 3rd time this has happened in a month - 1st time was out hacking the wk b4 cleobury - had to w/d - no refund, 2nd time whilst warming up for sj at sansaw - very lame - w/d, now she did it in stable overnight after one of the best jumping lessons we'd ever had!!!!
Have already changed blacksmith - he was due out for the first time on mon, but will prob have to be postponed!!! Will I ever get to an event and complete this year?? Have never before now appreciated what an acheivement it is to just get horse to an event!!!!
Fingers, toes, everything crossed for A-U-W!! Feel like I'm sponsoring BE single-handed!!
Sorry for this post, do feel a bit better now!
Anyone on the waitlist for Shipton Moyne Intro??

, but chin up got new blacksmith and hopefully a change of shoeing will help with sort issue of losing shoes. I have a flipper aswell and a change of blacksmiths defo helped alot, as my blacksmith will sort out even very small problem between shoeing, eg nails rising, hoof break up and needing rasping as he thinks of horse unlike some blacksmiths

Many sympathies...if its any consolation I'm going through a similar thing. In the end Salperton was cancelled but I have had this annoying intermittent lameness that fixes itself and then happens again. Not sure if I will get to Ascott, so if anyone is on the are waiting list and can do day before dressage, fingers crossed!

A 'flipper' lol - thanks!

Yes I'm hoping that this new chap will be my knight in shining leather chaps!! I didn't have these problems before with a previous blacksmith (had to change as he retired). The one I have is supposed to be one of the 'best' around here - but as you say doesn't actually really care about the horse. Thanks.

I'm wondering if Shipton will be canc in the end! But still won't get entry back now as have already w/d!!
Good luck and fingers are crossed for you for AUW. Hopefully we'll both get there!

Know the feeling, have had to withdraw from 3 hunter trials already due to my lad's inconsiderately timed lost shoes! Am starting to feel like we will never get any XC experience!
Now my other horse has Never lost a shoe in the 10 years I've had him! Why can't they all be like that?

shame about shipton

i was waitlisted, but then w/d and entered nutwell - but that didn't do much good as it's now cancelled!
i haven't done a BE in what seems like ages cause i was entered for marchington too & that was cancelled!!
AHHHHH can we have some sun PLEASE!

same long spell of bad luck happened to me - at ebbesbourne - withdrew xc as horse was behaving oddly. Broadway we ran out of steam at fence 18 on xc!!!, then my horse got colic so PNRF was a non start at ww. BUT went to stonar this week and completed!!!!!!!!!!!! really hoping shipton is not cancelled as its the best!
