...on the 1st June and I've just realised how close it is!!!
Am a little worried as when I explained to the woman it was Cop's first show and that she's 10 years old rather than months old she went to great lengths to tell me that a couple of producers use it as a warm up for their show ponies - she didn't quite grasp that it's about experience rather than winning
It's only a small show as she hasn't left the yard since she arrived 5 years ago. Luckily I'm not expecting to win
as she still has half her winter coat, scars from living wild on a welsh mountain and is still terrified of men. I just want to get her in the ring and give her some experience. Hope I can get the farrier out to shape her feet first!
Don't think it's bad progress - her old owner had her for five years as a field ornament and in eight months I've backed her, nearly broken her bad habit of not wanting to come in from the field and started jumping her on the lunge. Who said you can't teach an old pony new tricks!
