As of last night we haven't a bay colt foal but a liver chesnut!
I've been trying to breed one that colour for years, but we thought he was bay until yesterday.
Now his face is liver, his mane is chesnut rather than the black it appeared, so looks like I'm in luck..
I won't be that bothered if no-one buys him anymore......

Ooh, congrats. What would happen if you'd registered or passported him as a bay? I know foals change colour quite a lot, so is there a bit of leeway, say within the first 6mths or so?

Luckily we haven't done him yet, we micropchip them next month.
This is where I confess I've just removed his ad, and left the grey colt advertised, I can't bear to sell the first liver chesnut ever and he is such a nice foal...

Oh I love liver chestnuts! Is this Jazztime? If it is, im seriously jealous as I really wanted to buy him! I was very very close to PMing you about him, lol. At least I can keep seeing piccies of him now

lol! Well at least this a pleasant surprise from your herd!! I have to say though, that I always thought of Monty as a Liver Chestnut? He certainly was when C had him at college.......... or have I gone quite mad now? It is entirely possible you know, esp. with my life atm
