After a thorough health check, the vet agreed Jasper's teeth and mouth need attention under a GA. He's having a full blood work up done to see if needs any extra support during the procedure. All being well, he'll be home at tea time. Fingers crossed. He did howl when I left, poor sausage.

I have my fingers crosses for him, I hope it all goes well

. Let us know how he gets on.

Hi all. I'm back on my laptop now, so I can do paragraphs!

Thanks for your well wishes. I finally caved and have just called the vets. He's fine, in recovery and seems to have coped with the procedure well.

Just got time to drag the neds in and put the hens away before I fetch him.

Pancakes are going to be late tonight.

Just dreading the bill now.

All been a bit manic since I last posted.

Found my friend (she liveries with me) horse in the stable with colic at 4pm, so I've only just managed to get in the house after helping see to him. Thankfully, he seems to be ok, but he had some indicators for surgery and it was pretty 50-50 as to whether he off to Leahurst for a while.

Jasper is absolutely fine. He's only had 5 teeth removed, the rest were cleaned up. His mouth sore has been treated also, but seems to have probably been caused more by a tooth sitting into the fold of skin, rather than saliva being trapped in it. Now the tooth has been removed, the vet hopes that will heal naturally.

Poor sausage was dying for the loo when he came out.

Thanks for all the well wishes. We didn't have his "bits" done. Vet didn't seem to think it was necessary. Bloods were all normal, which he said was great given Jasper's advancing years.

He's eaten a soft tea and I'm pleased to report he doesn't smell!

Thanks. He seems to be back to his normal self. I've just checked on him. Will go out again in an hour or so as there has been no poop since the vet left (although he pooped twice during our wait for the vet).

Scary night.

We now have a cow stuck in a cubicle stall too. They were all TB tested earlier too. Been a busy vet day for our family.

Glad Jasper is ok.

What a day you had though. Hope your friends horse and the cow are ok now.

Friend's horse appears to be fine today, thankfully.

Cow has sadly gone to "a better place".
