... i have arms!! lol something small for the last 11 months since i bought the 'oss, i have realised this evening that i no longer need... yup the flash strap! The ginger one has some sunburn on his nose and after riding last night and the flash strap making his nose even sorer, i took it off tonight and my god what a difference. gone has the horse who leans, throws his head, pulls and is heavy on my arms and in place of that i have a horse that is light, no pulling and is quite happy to keep his head in one place. Admittedly its made no difference to him working in an outline, still got to work on that, but at least i still have use of my arms when i finish riding. I think i'll try without the flash for jumping too see if it makes a difference... yay one happy mummy

He was in one when i went to try him and asked if he always wore one and was told yes. Never questioned why, but tbh it probably was because the horse before him tried to kill me on a regular basis and lost a lot of my confidence back then so thought that if he was in one must have been for a reason and left it at that. Dont know why i waited so long as hes a darling really and knew he wouldnt be a problem, habit i think...

A Big well done, I know what it is like to loose you confidence.

I just asked because more and more a flash seems to be used as a fashion accessory just like the martingale.

Mine really did need both, but I am so pleased for you that yours does not seem to need his flash after all

Thanks! Well it wont ever be going back on him now, it will be consigned to the tack box that will keep mounting up until one day i decide to get rid of it all, but will keep it for now as it may come in handy for repairs of something (i'm a hoarder, leather bits, rug straps buckles you name it...) i must admit i do use a martingale

only when jumping though as he does a very good giraffe impression and gets really close to smacking me in the face without one, learnt that the hard way.. hope your not dissapointed lol
