I have seen horses before like this its not uncommon in gypsy vanners, very cute though.
I actually went to look at a horse who had a tache when i got there that didnt put me off the straight up rearing did though, not something i expected from a hairy, my tbs dont even do that.
You can just imagine him twiddling it with his hooves while he is relaxing in the field.

This slightly resembles the octopus man/thing in pirates of the carribean!! Looks like it'd get in the way of him eating and food would get all stuck!lol
Little moustaches are cute but I think this needs a little trim!!

Lol most of the cobs here have them...it's fine, providing they don't have a drink, snuffle around in dirt then nuzzle your neck!!!

Native ponies grow taches, i always beleived it was protection for when they eat gorse and other prickly stuff.

My section D grew the cutest little mustache (it was very sophiscated- we called him Pierre ;D.) Then one day I got him in from the field and it had vanished!! I almost put a note on the notice board demanding that the culprit come forward, he's my pony therefore his facial hair is mine to do with what I please (I was actually going to get rid of it but that's beside the point! xD) :D

Ah well there may not be a culprit !!!

I was schooling a couloured cob in the spring - when he got to ours he had a massive tash lol and I thought it was cute but the lady said he only has it when the ground is soft. as the ground hardens up and the grass goes short he wears it down on the rough surface!! Which sure enough he did !!

Lots of the riding school horses had them I remember from being younger

The tash is prized in the gypsy cob amongst the Romany breeders as they value every hair a cob has. Stinky gets a nice one in winter but rubs it away in summer.

Cairo used to have a very nice one and I used to like to twist it in points with a bit of vaseline on the ends. Farra being a lady, only gets a tiny one.

The Traditional Gypsy Cob Association has for its fun classes at TOYS this year, best beard, best legs, best mane and tail and ....... best tash which is sponsored by Cairo Clydesdale RIP.

Friend had a gypsy cob that used to grow a rosette-shaped moustache in the winter which then disappeared in the summer (we thought he moulted it rather than rubbing it off on harder ground but who knows!). Presumably it was the way he ate that made his 'tache turn into a circle but it was very impressive and not as creepy as the one on the OP's link.
