Yesterday when I was driving along the A594 in Waverton near Wigton, Cumbria, I passed a 3.5t flatbed van on the opposite side of the road, doing about 30mph. Not so strange, you may think, until I spotted a set of hairy feathered legs trotting madly behind it... When I looked round, a young lad was sitting on the back of the truck, holding the rope of the poor beast!
I've seen lazy people exercise dogs this way, which is bad enough, but I would never imagine anyone doing. that with a horse - what if the lad got pulled off the back of the truck? Or let go of the rope on an A road? Unbelieveable.
