I've seen some dodgy rugs on ebay...

I'd be embarrassed to put in the bin - the dustman might see it eek. Some people wil always try on ebay. On our local horsey facebook page someone was trying to sell Lidl £4.99 travel boots for £40!!!

lol, people used to bring me far worse than that to repair, one woman literally gave me a handful of nylon infill, a little of the outer , all the surcingles, front straps and binding and said it has sentimental value can you rebuild it?
I did but it cost far more than a new one costs and it had VERY little left of the original in it, she was happy though!

See, this is the sort of rug that i trawl ebay looking for, as i don't mind repairing and keeping as spares for my boy. BUT i absolutely REFUSE to pay so much for postage - especially for cotton/lightweight rugs as it doesn't cost that much to post (especially when you consider that alot of private sellers quite rightly use recycled packing materials rather than buying post-bags and adding expense).

If it weren't for the postage, I'd buy it! :)

I might have listed it but for spares or repair as have you seen the price of straps & fittings?

The postage is over the top though - £3.50 would cover stamp. bag & Paypal fees.

i have contacted the seller and advised them that they will have better luck by removing all the straps and buckles etc and selling them separately for spares/repairs.

I agree the £7 postage would put anyone off from buying it even for parts

I've binned better rugs than that tbh.

Why? Like someone else said, the fixings and straps could be removed and saved for repair jobs, and with turnout rugs the material can be saved for patching other rugs.

Also, i'm sure equestrian charities would be appreciative of rugs, regardless of the holes as with a little bit of effort they can be fixed.

I've 'rescued' other people's throwaways before now - just because they couldn't/wouldn't repair a rug, doesnt mean it should go to waste.

Haaaaaahahahaha!! Brilliant! Thats given me a right giggle!! Oh bless though, nice that they took the effort to post it on ebay thinking it would come in handy to someone out there. But 7 QUID P+P...nah! :D;)
