I've viewed 18 horses and had 2 failed vettings. Can anyone help me find a new horse?

I'm looking for the exact same horse as you are :D I'm going to start viewing in September, which is when I will have my finances sorted. I've been having a look on the websites and I've seen quite a few I fancy the sound of on horsequest and in H&H.

I'm going to have to be really fussy and really thorough this time round, as I can't afford another mistake horse because my tb is starting to make me lose confidence, so I'm going to try and find a nice uncomplicated chap who i can take out on my own to local events and have fun on. During the winter I work part time, and I'd like to do lots of local midweek unaf. dressage comps and some midweek hunting too. It's now obvious my current horse will never do anything like this without putting me (or anyone else who tries) in hospital first!
 
Poor you all them viewings youve had a stressful time and a wedding too huge stress and time factors
I think you have an excellent budget really its just a case of matching with your horse i had the same searching horse not as advertised, etc,total waste of time ,its like finding the right bloke to marry hang on in there and youll get there you could try a very reputable dealer ?
I did in the end and horse was only half my budget

will say to OP im not overley willing to drop on price as mare was the horse i bought to produce for the biggies ie RIHS/HOYS im strugglingvery hard to actully get her advertised on hh etc.

she is a bit of a perfect horse though.

They do exist, but it's not easy finding the whole package. In nearly 30 years of owning horses I've owned 2 of these ellusive creatures :D, but once we had them we kept them for the rest of their lives. One was an ex police horse, and the other was an eventer.

I had this problem at the end of last year when on a budget I wanted the seemingly impossible, but I was willing to travel and from Cardiff found my boy (who is perfect!) in Plymouth. Sadly, on a budget and in the area you live in I really think you will have to be willing to travel further afield for what you want, or maybe compromise on one area?
 
your budget is realistic in the current market, but you might have to travel a bit further. dont discount a younger one to bring on. sensible babies do exist if they have been done right. i have a very nice 16.2 5 yr old honest as the day is long. good all respects schools nicely jumps round all the fillers but does lack mileage due to time restraints. well bred by poetic justice, but still growing. based in warwickshire so only 3 hours from about anywhere! (except ireland and scotland!!)
 
Farrierlover - How much are you asking?, where are you and whats your horse done, whats he like on roads, clip, catch, box and shoe? Sorry for all the questions. Im currently horse hunting.
 
16.3 7 year old lots of bone TB, with a very big bold jump, 100% to clip, box, shoe, traffic. V bold jump £2K Devon.......

£2750, Buckinghamshire, great to load, catch shoe and in traffic (not sure about clipping but he was clipped out when he arrived and he is well hunted so I would wager that he's fine!) He's awesome XC, jumps anything SJ although his long legs mean he sometimes has difficulties with related distances at local shows when they're set up for ponies! He's kind and honest and will give anything a go. He's also got a fabulous trot and has done mainly RC dressage for the two years before I owned him. Just gorge, I love him but he just isn't what I was after (15.2 or so!).
