My horsebox is currently awaiting diagnosis at the garage but am sitting here fearing the worst and wondering if anyone has any ideas. It is a 2000 Iveco cargo 73e15. It has an oil cooler.

So... on my way to plating the truck in February, my truck started to boil. I pulled over immediately - a pipe had burst. We did a quick repair and drove the 3 miles to the garage. All fixed and everything was fine. Due to lockdown it has not been out very much but i check oil and water every outing.

On my first outing post boil, it was difficult to see the water level - previously it had been quite clear. i assumed that a blue coolant and didn't think much of it. I checked the level and all seemed well. i went about 20 miles.

On the second outing I went a total distance of 250 miles.(125 each way) I checked oil and water again before return journey. On the way back I noticed the cab seemed to be smelling a bit fumey but didn't think too much of it.

I was about to make a 3rd journey but this time when checking the water to my horror it was full of oil! The oil level in the engine doesn't seem and different. I drove over to the garage .. it didn't overheat and it seemed to be sounding and driving much as normal.

Anyone experienced this? Any ideas or can offer any suggestions.

Honestly, without my hands on the vehicle I wouldn’t like to speculate. It might or might not be the oil cooler. So, I would just await the verdict of the mechanic who has the vehicle in front of him.
