Iveco horsebox Speedo not working!!!

Hi all,
My old (1996) Ford Iveco Solitaire Sapphire horsebox’s Speedo has stopped working!
Have already tried opening&re closing but not luck…

Any advice greatly appreciated!!

I think if you take the taco card out and put in a new one that may work but it was a long time ago I had the problem so my memory may be wrong

I had this and the opening and closing didn't work as the vehicle was moving at the time.

it needs to have a disc in the tacho to work

I had this a few years ago and had to take the lorry to the mech to get the speedo and tacho recalibrated

I had this and I put a new taco card in it and that worked!

Thank you, we have tried this now and no luck. Seems that nothing on the dash is working as no lights come up when you turn on the ignition, fuses look fine though

It does, and we have tired a new card but hasn’t made any difference. Seems that nothing on the dash is working at all for some reason

If i remember rightly it was about £160 but this was pre COVID

have you checked all the fuses? Tacho might be on a separate in line fuse. Is the clock working ?

This, the fuse box will have a diagram of what fuse works what.
Back when Adam was a lad pulling fuses on tacho s was a thing!

Happened to me in a 2007 Iveco and the entire tacho needed replacing. The same had happened a couple of months earlier to a friend with the same model and age - apparently it’s because the tacho has a separate battery that needs replacing every 2 years! I’m afraid it cost me about £1000 and that was 3 years ago.

We had this issue too. It was the tacho battery which needed replacing. We were quoted a high price but shopped around and managed to get it done for much much less so it's worth speaking to different garages.
It's noted down now on the calendar to renew battery when required. (I think ours is every three years but OH deals with it so may be different).
When you have it done ask the question.
