As per the title really, unfortunately I’m not in a position to try them in a 505 before I buy. I’m in two minds - do I hang out and save a bit longer to buy a 510? Current budget is only about £1500.

Yes I know the 505 is supposed to take 2 x 16.2’s BUT does it, are they going to be mega squished?

I have a 505 and have carried:
2xtbs 16'2
Tb plus Welsh section d
cob as per yours plus 16.3 TB
2 Hoys heavy weight cobs
All good in trailer and as I tow with a defender no weight problems. Trailer is regularly serviced and I knew horses weight.

Oh that’s super helpful, thank you! One is a LW hunter and the other is a MW cob, chunky but not massive. We wouldn’t be doing long journeys or keeping them on the trailer for long periods of time anyway.

I've spent the summer squeezing my two horses into a friends 505. I will not be choosing one as my transport next year and will be going for the 510 or 511. Mare is 16.1 cobxtb/ish and gelding is ISH @ 16.2. It was a bit like trying to get toothpaste back into the tube!

Why cant you try one?
