we decided to brave another outing with the boys and the ponies today, it was a very early start (yawn!)
I just knew it was going to be one of those days where things might not go as smoothly as planned.
Rocket, who is usually the pony we could rely on decided that he was going to be a devil, this became apparent as soon as we entered into the lead rein class with Noah, doing well on our first walk round but he was neighing for his field companion, starting jig jogging then decided to throw a massive bronco fit, luckily Noah stayed on but as it was his first sit on a buck rear type thing he was very shaken and upset and wanted off and out he is only five bless him and hasn't been riding long, managed to persuade him to keep going and the judge very nicely told us we could just wait it out in the middle of the ring, Daddy came to assist, we did manage to do a little show but only in walk, we came sixth but Noah was chuffed to bits to get a rosette and we have now told him he is a true cowboy!
next class was the most handsome gelding, Jacks turn, Rocket was a little better behaved, did have a quick buck in the trot up but luckily Daddy was there as he needs to assist Jack around the ring, no tears from Jack just a laugh and a massive smile, we got second in that class!
next class was Thellwell lookalike, much better behaved in this class, Jack got third on Rocket and Noah got fifth on Patch, although he swopped his rosette to sixth as he didn't want a pink one!
last class was best mane and tail, Rocket walked round lovely with Noah, much calmer, no individual show needed but the judges came round to feel all the manes and tails, We Won this class!!! very excited, but Rocket was a little devil in the line up, he could see his field mate a few ponies down and wouldn't stand still, he then decided to rear up, not massively but enough to freak Noah out again, so daddy to the rescue.
all in all a fab day, no photos taken as we left the camera at home, we are hoping to buy some professional ones soon,
