Hi there,

My Jack Russel started with diarrhoea yesterday..he is well in himself and full of energy..he had an 'accident' last night but not passed anything since.

Any tips on what to feed..boiled rice etc..or point me in the direction of a previous post as I'm sure this will have been done before!!

Ooh also would you walk him..I promised the kids a treck around the Peaks tofay!!

Thanks in advance,
Kate.xxx

If he is well in himself I would give him a starve day - I think quite a few dogs will be having the runs at this time of year what with all the turkey bits, ham bits, bit of pork pie, crisps, twiglets, bits of cheese and so on (that's what Henry has had over the last few days - thank God for a gundog's stomach!)

I would still walk him as long as it is just that when he goes it is a bit runny.

If you want to give him a bland diet, a bit of plain boiled rice or pasta is good, maybe with some bovril. Last time Henry gave himself a stomach upset I cooked rice in beef stock onstead of water.

Obviosuly if it doesn't clear up in a day or so, or he seems to get worse, pop him to the vets!

Aww thanks for the reassurance.. you are probably right on the tit bit theory, the kids are a nightmare sneaking treats to him!!lol

He is fine in himself..bouncy as ever but I shall pop him to the vet if it doesn't clear up,

Thanks again.xx
