I am thinking about getting one or should I re home an older dog, boss has agreed I can bring it to work with me so it wouldnt be at home alone all day

pro's and cons for JRT ownership please

Thank you

Mary

Jack Russells are lovely dogs. Full of fun.

Personally I would re-home an older do. Puppies always get a home, adults are less fortunate.

That was my thinking and older dogs will already be house trained (hopefully) are there any reputable re homing societys purely for JRT's

fingers crossed as I have always wanted either a JRT or manchester terrier

Have 2 JR's. Right little bundles of mischief. Very loving but can get quite snappy with strangers. Someone said 'a Jack Russell is a great big fierce dog trapped in a tiny body.' Don't know about re-homing. I had both mine as pups.

The best ever !

Just need firm training right from the start then it's all fun and love and... Intelligence !

. Agree with daisymay66, they really ARE like "big dogs trapped in a tiny body"

I have a wee little Boris a JRT, he's full of mischief and and is so sweet, I wouldn't swap him for the world... I am sure u would find few JRTs at rehoming centres. Boris is currently at the vets for castration so i am bit concerned for him at the moment.

I hope Boris is ok, I am really going to give it alot of thought before commiting myself to a JRT as I know its for life
thanks I know saff gets on with terriers so thats a good start

We had a ten week old JTR three weeks ago. Her name is Dotty as she is all white with a dot on her back and dots on her ears !! Love her so much they are so much fun, we have a miniture snauzer who is eleven who is tolerating Dotty ! ! when she hangs on Sculleys beard and eybrows she lets her know she does not like it !! Perhaps they should be called Jack Russell Terrorists !!
