Gotta love that little tum My own JRT is just coming up to 1 year old now. I was never a fan of the breed but Ive known his mum since she was 6 weeks old and she is truly a one in a million little dog. Based totally on her character and the fact I have 2 completely trained and well behaved sociable ESS at home I took little Arch on at 7 weeks and have never regretted it. He has recall, a gorgeous temperament, gets on with everyone and everything and is a most suitable size to be a hot water bottle in bed!! Good luck with Fella, hope he makes you as happy as little Arch makes us
Thank you, he's been a total dude so far and even asked to go for a wee today even though toilet training only started on Tuesday! He seems to take life in his stride and is coping well with the occasional somersault courtesy of the big lad :redface3: he also doesn't whine at night and sleeps in his own bed albeit in an old fleece of mine. Really looking forward to seeing how he grows up as he seems like he will be just what I am looking for - a happy, independent, outgoing, cuddly little dog who can wreck around with Tandog.
We have a Parson Russell Terrier commonly seen as a JRT but they are the proper long legged ones. Had her since a pup and we also got 2 others from the same litter, one for my Grandad and another for a friend. We has the female, she is the most gentle loving dog and very smart can do a number of tricks- she is however very high energy even at 12! She doesn't have great recall but we never trained her properly.
My Grandad dog was probably the smartest dog I have ever known but sadly never trained. He however was also the most excitable high energy dog I have every know but also very very loving and the third boy was very well tempered as well but quite shy. As we any breed and individual they all have their own personalities and abilities but they are lovely dogs but by no means quiet, they need a lot to do and think about!
