Jacket embroidery

Hi what jackets do you use for embroidery? I've seen some nice summer weight horseware jackets on ebay but they don't have the zip for the embroidery - if they have no fleece lining can you just embroider on them anyway straight through?

The only ones I have seen are the ones you order with the stuff done already. Very vulgar, but boy I'd like one!!!!!

Got it done on ebay for my sister for christmas, Mum did the numnah for her as well.

I had mine done by the local tack shop, I would say that if no fleece you should be able to get it done without any problem.

thank you both. I don't want it to look vulgar just the stud name on a navy jacket. My sister in law has just had the stud name on the box and then suggested jackets for us all - Im still undeceided as to wether I'll even wear one or not!!

you can embroider onto almost anything... there are backings and toppings for all sorts of fabric... if you want to embroider onto fleece you can put a topping which looks like cling film onto it to stop it falling into the pile... on lighter fabrics i use a heavier backing and on stretchy i use iron on,
