I need a new hacking jacket, have been searching for ages now, ordered 2 online, both had to be returned as too big, my problem is the smallest ladies size I can find is 34, which is too large, so was thinking maybe getting a maids 32, what is the difference between the maids and the ladies? Need one by the 22nd as doing a ODE over at Isleham and my old one is a complete disaster!

Any ideas on a small, well fitting hacking jacket, to go with a black hat most appreciated... I'm beginning to get desperate!

Thanks

Maids is generally 2" smaller than ladies I think, so if I was wearing 28" maids jods, they would be the same as 26" ladies jods.

I'm pretty sure... I need a new hacking jacket too, have a Foxley grey tweed one ATM but need a darker one. Why not try Ebay? Mine was cheap off there

Would it be possible to try a few on in a shop, then try Ebay knowing the fitting that is perfect for you? Lucky you, being smaller that a ladies 34" !!

Not sure about what is being said above. My daughter's maids 32 (made by Phoenix) measures 34" around the chest at the armpit. I think they may be shorter in the length of the jacket and sleeves and perhaps there is less room for a bust!

Perhaps you can work out sleeve length/jacket length that is ideal for you from your existing jacket . Perhaps also the chest as well, measuring across the outside of your jacket. Then you could just ask either on ebay or from an internet shop what the exact measurements are of the jacket you are interested in and take it from there?
