jackets Goldfinch ??

My daughter has a 13.2 mare who is the dido of her mother who was sired by jackets goldfinch. Last year was her first year broke in. What a star, winning many championships in show hunter pony and working hunter. She never hits a fence and is jumping clear 1m this year, and fast in speed. 1.10 will be no bother next year. She carried my daughter to 2nd place in the open at pony club home championships and my daughter is only 11. On the down side she is hard to ride at times although that can be a mare-ish thing. She is very loving but needs a strong rider. Hope this helps.

She sounds very like my mare. We believe that our mare is a descendent from a offspring of jackets Goldfinch or a relation in terms like that. She will jump the moon but is hot headed !! Thanks for the info as I'm attempting to get information about him and relations to see how much my mare is like them and is it worthy to get a DNA test done(no breeding recorded). She looks very like an Arab ,chestnut in colour and only one person have had some sort of idea/guess as to what her breeding could be and said she is nearly defiantly something to do with Jackets Goldfinch :)

Poppy also looks very like an Arab. There was also a pony at the northern ireland festival who won the shp open class last year, who looked dido to poppy. When we spoke to the owners she was also goldfinch breeding. If you are at the northern ireland festival this year we shall be there give us a shout arctic poppy is her show name you will find us in the shedule.

Northern Ireland festival is at Cavan equestrian centre. We may be doing Dublin this year depending on how she holds her weight, as we shall be eventing her this year.

Anybody else know anything about jackets Goldfinch and his offspring ? :-)

I have had a mare and a gelding by Jackets Goldfinch. The mare won at Dublin and was on the Scottish 138cm SJ team before becoming a brood mare. I have bred three fillies from her, so they all have Jackets Goldfinch as their Grand Sire.

Jackets Goldfinch is by a Sarnau stallion called Golden Falon (a part-bred arab) out of a Jackets mare by Valiant.

Mine are chestnut, beautiful, talented and hot.
