I am quite tall (5ft10) and slim and am wanting a new tweed hacking/showing jacket for this season. The problem is as i am tall, slim and quite long arms i cant seem to find any that fit nicely. They all are either too short, too baggy or the sleeves look to short! Is the only option to get one specially made - that will probably cost a fortune!

Does any one else have this problem? Can anyone recommend any nice ones that arent too expensive?

Thanks

I've got the same prob. I ended up with a pikeur - it's got a nice fit and had longer arms than some other makes. It could do with being about an inch longer in the arm though but doesn't look too bad. (See 'professional dressage' pics in gallery - you can see my watch showing!)

Most of the manufacturers will do a cheapish made to measure service. Try Alexander James - just let them know how much longer you want the arms and they will adjust accordingly.

I second FMM, i have an alexander james jacket, it only had a half velvet collar so i asked if i could have a whole velvet collar and they did it free of charge. very smart too

I am exactly the same as you, the long arms are the real problem. I have been advised to try a Pikeur Diana jacket in extra long. I am trying it at the weekend so fingers crossed, but have to say that even though I tried on a size that was smaller, it did feel more like it was a proper fit. To get the length on the sleeves of the jacket I have at the moment, I had to go for a size too big so it looks like an inflatable balloon on me!!!
