Hi,

I've been trying on jackets for months now trying to get something to fit! All I want is a plain navy jkt, which shouldn't be too hard to find, except my arms seem to be a tad too long! Length in the arms = too big in the body! Does anyone have any suggestions of off the peg or made to measure...?

Thanks

Have a look at the hems of the sleeves - is there any spare material inside so that you could get the sleeves lengthened by a tailor?

Failing that, get one that's a bit big (and right for arms) and get it taken in where appropriate - less expensive than full on made to measure but gets the effect.

Cavallo, Pikeur and Kentuky all do 'long sizes. so if like me you have arms like a gibbon but a little body, then these provide you with an option!
If you cant find any Uk companies then try Divosa. com, they are a huge Dutch equestrian superstore. You will need to find your continental size.

I am tall and have the same problem-right length in arms, too baggy widthwise, and vice versa.
I found there is an inch or two off turn-up on the sleeves, which I had let down, so now the right length, and a lovely fit width ways.
Alexander James make beautiful LW wool navy jackets which they will adapt for you re: arms and waist length and width on a standard size-but only if you are prepared to pay approx £200!
