Can someone please explain to me the difference between a Jaguar and a Harry Dabbs saddle?
I'm aware Jaguar took over the HD company but am seeing some saddles advertised as Jaguar when they have the HD logo on them.

Basically I want to know what to advertise mine as without being misleading??

A Jaguar saddle and a harry dabbs saddle are two different things.

When Jaguar saddles first started being made they were made by Harry Dabbs - just the same as when he was at field house. During his time doing this he also brought out his own line of saddles so that if he lost the Jaguar licence he would still have his own line.

Both saddles are made in the same factory by the same people - but a Jaguar is a Jaguar and it will be clearly stamped there are certain elements to the Jaguar that the design copy right is owned by Jaguar and they will therefore not be on the Harry Dabbs ie the way the Jaguar saddles come up off the back without having "skirts".

This is what I was told by the master saddler I got mine through.

If you want me to take pictures of each saddle and email them to you so you can see the difference PM me your email address

I have one of each make the Dabbs saddle is no less quality and the only reason I have a Jaguar for another horse was because of the fit as she is very very close coupled.

There is a vast difference in price Dabbs is about half the price of a Jaguar. As I said they are very clearly identifyable - the Jaguar will be market with the Jaguar logo and I think it does say on it Jaguar by Harry Dabbs. The Harry Dabbs own brand does not have the Jaguar logo.

Hope that helps.
