Just been reading through a few posts and there seems to be a lot of falling out/hot debates with quite a few angry people around at the moment. Is it the snow thats doing it or is that Christmas is gone and January is a miserable month. Just an observation but I guess its because of the weather and lack of riding. Must say it seems to be one continuous haul of mucking out, turning out, bringing in, haynets and water buckets. Roll on Spring eh!!!

I'm usually a positive person but this weather is really getting me down. I work as a psychologist and I'm finding reappraising the whole situation isn't working nor is CBT! But know that hopefully weather has to eventually easy up.

Haven't ridden in weeks now. I'm sooo fed up with the snow and the fact that I have no money because of xmas, and also cold weather increasing feed and bedding costs, also dog needed surgery costing around £400, and we hadn't got him insured (stupid us) and to top it all car had problems! Also, have just run out of straw and as nobody has been able to get to us in this weather!

I'm currently snowed in, can't get to work or horses- horses live at parents so are being cared for by non-horsey parents via phone calls. Also snowed in with our crazy dog who should be resting post op but wants to play in snow and is driving me mad.Only positive I can see is that at least I can catch up with MSc coursework, that's if dog calms down.

Husband is out delivering newspapers in a van in lethal driving conditions, so worried about his safety- he's already pulled a lady out of her car that was on fire in a ditch, police said he saved her life as she was trapped in car and dazed from head injury, in the middle of no-where, and would have died of smoke inhalation or fire!

Can't wait for spring/summer!

hugs to you silverted, and i thought i had it bad!
bless you. things can only get better though (i know they can! this is my positive thinking bit!!!)
i think this weather has got everyone down, and to be honest, winter in general is just a time of the year that makes people a bit miserable.
i think we just have to all hold on and get through it, and look forward to those summer evening hacks after work! (ahhhhh i can see it now!!)

I'm deff on a winter blues-downer. As soon as my alarm goes off I know I have to get ready to go out, and it was minus ten this morning.

I am running out of straw cause I cant ge to the farm where i buy if from cause they live on the steepest hill EVER
Im currently sat in the office with 3 pairs of socks on, thermal long johns and a big wooly fleece. All i can think about to try and make me feel better is my holiday I have waiting for me in March.
Another positive I can think of is my horse is being an absolute angel, she walks ever so slowly on the snow and ice when we have to (usually she's a barger)

My holiday is in the middle of march, thats 9 weeks away...so spring will be here soon, dont worry!!

You have a lot on your plate Silverted, bet you end up calming yourself along the way of worries. Sounds like your hubby was a guardian angel to the lady in the car accident. My OH is an RAC patrol and he came accross a lady who had just been crashed into with a person in a 4x4 who was travelling too fast. She was shocked and he ended up following her home to make sure she got there safely. Trouble with some drivers, they think they are invincible in a 4x4 but thats def not the case, I know cos I have one. Hope all your problems are resolved soon and the snow lets up.
Wish I was on holiday tuttlebum soon, my horse too is an angel on the ice, we tip toed round the stable block today just once, shes on box rest at the mo, should be walking in hand 3x per day but not possible. Shes been so good and calm and shes a big girl.

Lets hope things improve soon for us all and maybe the forum will be a happier place too!!
