So went to Towerlands today for JAS, had to keep up at 5.50am which wasnt pleasent! Reminded me of the early starts eventing!

Got there and walked course it was VERY up to height for 90cms thought maybe a bit big Spider but thought we will see!

Mac was in 1st jumped really well just has no 2 down, took a stride out and tapped the back of the spread with his front toe, but was so pleased with how he jumped all teh XC fences and there had placed the hanging roll top thing with about three strides on a turn to the corn, then on to the arrow head

but he jumped them super.

Then Spideys turn she warmed up lovely she is getting fitter every day, jumped the bg spread a coupl eof times and went in. She wasnt as spooky as normal going in there and jumped round beautifully!!

Just having one SJ down and two XC poles (which was the treble on a turn!) Am chuffed to bits with her considering she is still only 4! SUPER PONY!

Then Mac went into the PN class again jumped really well - but on the BE fence he went to take off and didnt go then went and hit - carried on thinking what happened there and he jumped the rest clear, came out and it trned out he had troden on his foot on take off that is why he wasnt going anywhere!!! He had pulled his shoe off that had only been put on Tues and it is in the most mangled shape I have ever seen!! So he had 4 faults in both classes so he was a SUPER PONY too!

Absolutely chuffed with them both.

Not to chuffed with the marks though! They wasnt bad but not too good either and the comments were like he was talking about somebody else to be honest!! But I spose it didnt read a top name at the top so who cares!

Great warm up for event season though and obviously all my practise paid off!!

good results for both ponies and mac was a star for continuing even after pulling his shoe off.

Spider is a star she just tried her heart out!! Love her to bits, very excited about her!

And yes Mac was cool to continue clear after that because that must have hurt pulling it off like that!!!

Bless them!

You need to change your name to Gemma Tattersall. Then you can run straight past the corner, have 3 or 4 down, trot 3 times during your round and still get a 7 for style.

Or alternatively on a different horse you can rear on the way round and get a good mark.

Nothing against Gemme personally but I do feel the judges read the name forst.

It stinks.

Have made decision not to do it again next year unless I change Bee's name by deed poll!

You have to ignore the style marks and just look at how well they jumped. After watching JAS at Hand and reading all the comments on the score sheets there is no way I would ever waste my money doing it.

Well done - you must be really pleased.

Hi! Nice to meet you, sorry if was a bit rused but only had one to go I think!!

Think is Mac is a grade A and has a super technique over a fence obviously!! And we got a 4 for it

Oh well they both jumped super and I was very pleased with them!

Def good practice

Really I never knew that.

That hasnt been happening with other top riders @ other events has it?

Was a nice course though wasnt it, quite techincal the line into he corner from the other fence though especially for baby horses.

And so expensive, lots more then the all weather events TOWERLANS hold themselves - and not much better!!

We did the one at Arena UK last Sat too, it was the same course but much better built, encouraged better riding, the jumps were positioned so there were 2 turns you could go for. IMO the corner at Towerlands was badly placed, it was too near the end and on a half stride, needing hauling and hooking to get into a position to jump it. The distances in the 2 one strides were also extremely short and there were 3 and a half strides out of the coffin.

The bounce in the Nov was on 3.5 yards - pony distance.

All the jumps seemed to be crowded round the far end and very little at the collecting ring end, at Arena UK they were much more evenly spread.

When the course was altered between classes the distances were not remeasured, just strided.

IMO at an eventing level of jumping especially the lower level you should not have 'trick' strides or corners in a really difficult place to jump.

I did the JAS intro and PN classes at west wilts and even though i'm an unknown name I won both classes, admitidly in the PN other people got a better style score than I did but my clear with only one time fault secured it. Going to the finals on sunday, anyone got any advice for me???
