Just been having a watch of him on horse hero, looks an interesting approach http://www.horsehero.com/56315 No gimmicks etc. Has anyone been to his yard coffee mornings, am very tempted but its a bit of a hike.
Jason's yard is local to me. I've known him for about 6 years and he is really good. I was actually due to go on one of his courses with my youngster today but have a really bad case of flu & sickness and didn't think it was a good idea to be dragged round by a Section D or pass my bugs onto anyone else!
Most of my horsey friends in the area have used him from backing to remedial problems and I really couldn't recommend him enough. He is very straightforward and to the point and speaks a lot of sense!
All of the horses at the yard are so well behaved and I think that's because of Jason's approach which I would say is firm but very kind.
I'm a livery on Jason's yard, and couldn't recommend him enough. His methods make sense, and are firm but fair. He makes things clear to the horse and rider/handler and explains why he does things the way he does.
He's also really open to other ideas, and always stresses that his way isn't the only way, but is the way he has found to work in his experience.
Come down to a coffee morning - you'll learn so much just from watching and listening!
Since I've moved there I have achieved so much with my horse, more than I thought I could. The staff are wonderful, I trust every single staff member to handle my horse as I would, and it is a really supportive, positive environment.
The horses are all happy and chilled, and considering how many "problem" or young horses he has in at any one time, that's quite an achievement in itself.
Go to the coffee morning and have a chat with Jason or his yard manager Sarah. Jason backed my mare 4 years ago and we haven't looked back since. I can't recommend him highly enough.
I always judge someone by their horse, and his stallion Diesel is a sweetheart!
I've watched demos and been along to a coffee morning, and was struck by how quiet and steady he was with the horses. There's no bull***t like you often get with people who like to put on a show and call themselves trainers.
