Following a few problems with him being a bit bolshy and stopping, he was dropped down to Intro height.

Did a lovely dressage 31.8 second best in section. Would have been in lead if Bee had not done a transition at A when the test asked for before A.

Clear SJ

XC had a stop in the water as the new technique of hold and strangle was applied a little to strongly.

Also stopped at the horse shoe jump as he was running home and got away a little. Had a chat with Mr Stick and then jumped.

At least we have worked out how to deal with him with a zero tolerance policy of any naughtyness which seems to be working.

Photos are linked here http://www.aurarphoto.com/ go to Soham 22/4 page 21, first 2 pics

Overall Bee was very pleased with him especially the dressage and SJ. The XC will come as she works out how much she has to strangle and how much to kick.

He has at least been consistent in ducking left so she will get huge right arm muscles.

Aha - we talked to you as you were following her progress I think! (we were on the top of the mound after the ditch and before the corner at the time). Glad she finished her round ok, even if he did have a stop at the horseshoe. At least you know the new technique worked!

That was INTRO jumping a fence in the water!!!!!!
Don't do that until novice here.
Two very nice photos, the water one perhaps if I had to pick one.
I like that..."had a chat with Mr Stick"...very good.

If he ducks consistently to one side have you tried a brush? It worked very well on my horse last year as he would go to the right.

He tends to go through his shoulder rather that be led by his nose. If you look at the second water photo you can see him trying it there.

We have him in a hanging cheek waterford atm as the cheek helps the steering a little and when he is worked in Bee uses a lot of lateral work to remind him that she has control of the shoulders. She is getting used to keeping the whip in her left hand, just needs to practice using it a bit quicker to back up the leg sometimes.
