Have been recommended this dealer and just wondered what others experiences have been. Horses look nice and adverts sound honest and detailed.

I live close by and never heard of them! not sure if thats a good or bad thing! but looking at the address on their FB page, it can't be for the yard as its in the middle of a housing estate.

JB Sporthorses is run by Jame "Chuck" Brizzel. Used to be Ride Irish in Kent; also deals from yard near Pulborough West Sussex. There are reviews on here and on Googling.

That's helpful. We had good horses off Chuck ages ago but when it went bad he didn't deal with the problem and it wasn't good news for the person concerned.

I only have good things to say about Chuck and the horses I've ridden at his or from him in the past. All have been as they've said on the tin, and there have been a few(!), but helps to go with your eyes open! That said, there must be a reason that his business name and location has changed more times than I've had hot dinners.

They appeared to have some nice horses when I was looking but never returned my calls or messages so I gave up.

Go to Shane Walsh - I have bought from him and other friends have done so subsequently. Good horses, horses do as described. Took a bit to get hold of him but was worth it

Don't touch with a barge pole! His sidekick used to sell horses in kent- really bad news. Adverts and vidoes look great but horses have a lot of issues. Go to Shane Walsh or southgate farm

definatly steer well clear just bought a cold backed horse with big scar not as described at all.very underhanded charlotte foreman promised to take him back transport booked and paid for by me £325 then refused the day before, they had no intentioins of taking him back just led me fool for a month with false promises.i was told yesterday another lady returned hers in person and never got her money!!!x

I purchased a horse from Mr James Brizzell, who is a horse trader operating in the local area (who trades under the name JB Sportshorses). I purchased the horse following misrepresentations made by Mr Brizzell that it would be suitable for my fourteen year old daughter to ride, but the horse proved to be wholly unfit for purpose.

A court has ordered Mr Brizzell to pay me £19,560.32 in respect of the misselling of the horse.

I purchased the horse from Mr Brizzell on 31 August 2016. Mr Brizzell had advertised the horse as "easy in all aspects of her daily care … well schooled … [and] safe and sensible", and his agent, Mr Seamus Dillon, described the horse to me as entirely suitable for my teenage daughter. I purchased the horse after a veterinary examination indicated that it would be suitable for a novice rider.

However, after purchasing the horse, it quickly became clear that the horse was unsuitable; two weeks after the purchase, the horse bolted and bucked my daughter off during her riding lesson, and the riding instructor at my daughter's school was so concerned about its behaviour that she insisted it was removed. A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed that painkiller medications had been given to the horse prior to the purchase which had masked the fact that the horse was in fact lame, dangerous when ridden and wholly unsuitable.

Mr Brizzell refused to repay the purchase price and refused to take the horse back. The County Court at Basingstoke made an order on 20 July 2017 for Mr Brizzell to pay me £12,048.27 in damages, interest of £12.05 and £7,500 in legal fees.

omg i have bought one off them and had the same problem.the horse i got i bought blind.he turned up full of scars and bronked everyone off.he originally stated in writing he would swap the horse although i know now he had no intentions of doing, the horse that was to be swapped was a 12 year old hunter i refused as it didnt seem like for like swap so asked for my money back.A lot of my conversations was with his worse half charlotte foreman,i had the physio to him and he should come right,i will szay the night before he was due to go back charlotte foreman messaged the transporters to say not to drop the horse off or he wont be accepted.i paid for the transport to return him and feel they would have tried to sell him on my behalf and receive no money.they are crooks liars and shouldnt be near animals at all, they have adverts all over i have reported the to trading standards hopefully they wiull invesigate now as i must be the 4th person.send the bailiffs in sorry to hear anyone getting ripped off by these idiots

I'm so very sorry to hear you've been through this - I don't think we are the only people by any means and one day someone is going to get very seriously hurt by a horse that they are missold.

I hate to tell you this but I have been unable to get any money back at all as they have ensured that the company - and James Brizzell himself - have no assets in their name at all. If trading standards want to investigate please let me know as I have full court judgement against him.

OMG, I am so sorry you had to go through this. having read and heard such stories, I went nowhere near them. I just don't know how people like this can sleep at night, especially when there is a child involved. Absolutely disgraceful ! One of these days someone is going to get very badly injured, or worse. A friend of mine bought a pony recently from JB and and it's full history was not entirely thruthful. Although a lovely pony, it was younger and much greener than was told. It turned out to be very sore and so it's behaviour was compromised due to pain. It reared and flipped onto a young teenager. Thankfully, the child was OK and has kept the pony but working with a professional trainer now. JB would not entertain taking the pony back - which I am relieved at - instead offering something less suitable. The pony is now in a professional yard, being schooled properly and being looked after and loved.
I am pleased that you've being awarded monies. So many dishonest people out there, have no feelings for the poor horses involved and risking peoples safety. Shameful !!!

Seeing as though they have taken their page of facebook, I am assuming a number of people like me are looking for them, having been sold a horse with many lameness/physical issues, which funnily enough didn't show up for a few months after the vetting. Fortunately I still have the bloods from the vetting. I believe the lady who sold me the horse is now running Summer lees sports horses

Hello, I have been told JB did a runner ! And yes it appears Charlotte Foreman has set up in Kent under Summer Lees Sports Horses according to FB. But I have no idea if she is still associated with JB chap ? I would contact Charlotte to ask where James B is ... no doubt he'll pop up somewhere else !
