I've always wanted one and just seen one on the personnal notices at work.

I've had 2 friends that have towed with them... but what do you guys think??

Its a 4ltr Wrangler sport

I doubt it would be great for towing , Doesnt have enough weight behind it . Plus 4ltr is petrol isnt it ? Would be sore on the juice

As a former Jeep owner I would strongly advise you not to go within a million miles of one. I've defected to Land Rover now which are so much better it's silly.

When my Jeep went out of warranty I took it too the local 4x4 specialists for servicing. he did not say anything till I raised the subject, but he believes them to be the most troublesome of all the main 4x4 makes. On personal experience I'd agree.

Thank you- you have already confirmed what I thought!

P.S - I'm on my second jeep - just the bigger version and yes JEEP stands for Just enough essential parts!

I have a Jeep Wrangler and yes I do tow very heavy weights with it, generally huge hay wagons weighing about 4 tonnes ... however never on the road, only on the farm. The Wrangler tows these wagons perfectly and has no trouble with the weight even pulling them up our steep hills.

Having said all of that I would never use my Wrangler for towing anything other than a small trailer on public roads, due to the Wrangler only weighing about a tonne and a half. As a little run-around, the Wrangler is great (if you like that kind of thing - I don't, but I do know it is a great farm vehicle) but it is very juicy; I also have the 4 Litre.

I personally think they are very ugly vehicles but they are incredibly useful on a farm, especially with the top off.

Oh no - now getting good reports.

But sensibly I think I only want it cos they are converitable - how cool is that when you tow!!! (Yes I am fully aware of how sad I am!)

Head gasket went on our cherokee and it cost us £850 and even at that hubbie was able to fit it himself , We got shot of it when we got it sorted incase it decided to crap itself again .

Saying that towed like a dream but just not worth the hassle plus the price of diesel .

Tia , ugly noooo , I love the look of the wrangler
