I know some people have more money than sense, but 3.5k for a GWP that is only pet trained and the ad doesn't even specify if it is KC registered or health tested!!!

Anyone ever come across the company advertising this dog before? Have had a look at their web site and some of the videos of their dogs training - including dropping the ball at the feet of the handler on a retrieve - are not particularly impressive.

So, if they can get 3.5k for a dog like that now what am I bid for my motley crew?

....and yet when doing a bit of digging it all seems rather legit. I guess there are people who will pay a fair penny for training, which is on top of just getting "the dog".

I know of people who pay thousands upon thousands for specific breeding lines of show dogs - and they haven't got "training" apart from how to go round a show ring.

I have heard of the company in the OP and there is obviously a market for pre-trained dogs. I believe the company also sell trained dogs to police, security and personal protection homes.

Trained sheepdogs can make some staggering amounts of money.

Knowing the amount of work that goes into training a dog to a high standard, I don't have a problem with someone charging £££ but personally feel you miss out on so much by not training your dog yourself.

A company similar to the one above is A1K9 and I believe they sold a dog for £13,000 to Nigel Mansell.

I like this boy very much, but don't think my pockets would be deep enough without remortgaging my cottage!!
