Jeeps for towing

Hi all, im thinking of buying a 2.5 turbo diesel jeep cherokee. Does anyone use one for towing? I would really like any info good or bad, i dont want to get one and then feel like iv made a mistake. Mel xxx

I have a 2.8TD shogun. I know it isn`t the correct reply for your question but I am glad that I had the 2.8 as I think that the 2.5 wouldn`t have been big enough to tow my 16.3hh warmblood up some of the hills I have driven. I think the 2.5 would struggle with more than one horse. But that is my opinion. And if I am not mistaken, the cherokee is smaller than the shogun.

Hi I have a 2.5 jeep cherokee diesal and it tows great. I often take out two horses (a 15.3 and a big 16.2) and it has no problem.

Thats nice to hear, is yours a new model the one im going to look at is 9 years old but looks like its been well taken care of . xx

mine is about 3 years old it's the Jeep Cherokee Renegade. I'm not sure if there are any differences with the older model but if you look at the car manual (if the previous owners still have it) for the car you are going to look at it should tell you how much it is capable of towing.

I have a GC 4l petrol and my friend has the diesel - both are P reg's - both tow amazingly well!
