As title really.

Here in SW England/Devon - it literally hasn't stopped, day or night, since Monday morning.

Its just continual, dripping, dampness. Something falling from the sky all the time; then suddenly there's a deluge of heavy rain and water, gunk & mud just spews out of every gateway. OMG.

Is everyone else OK? Is everyone coping OK?? Hoping no-one's fields or houses/stables are flooded? Gonna ask the farrier to fit flippers next time methinks instead of shoes.

Up north, and we've been lucky this week, up until today - and then the forecast is constant rain. It's just so depressing, must be 100 times worse down south.

Waterproof trousers, muck boots and flexothane at the ready (again).
 
No rain here in the midlands :) cloudy and dry and it's not rained much in the past few days either. Think you are getting the worst of it. What a wretched year it's been for weather!
 
We're more south central so not quite as bad, been dry most of this week but wet today.
I moved yards a couple of months ago and grazing holding up amazingly - not a scrap of mud yet! But glad I moved as old field got like a padi field at the first sign of a slight shower!
 
Not to bad here in Reading was horrible Monday, but been fine since. It has just started to rain now which was expected & it's very dark out here today :(
 
Hate to say this and be a prophet of doom, but I gotta feeling all you good people up the country are gonna get this foul weather we've got here coming your way.

We shall be very glad to see the back of it for sure.

Totally sick to the back teeth with it; had planned to be cubbing (um, sorry, "autumn hound exercise" to use the correct PC phrase!!!) this morning but it was cancelled. Think we'd have been wearing our wet-suits anyway.
 
No rain since..... cannot remember, last week sometime.
Going to aerate fields this weekend as it may be the last chance before we start to get wet fields. We have clay land so the aerating really helps the water to get away over the winter.
Rain does make everything so miserable, everyone I know who have holidayed in Devon has had wet wet weather, so hugs to all Devonian's from a Norfolk Dumpling ;)
 
rained a lot on monday but since then its just been drizzling although its the kind of drizzle that gets you soaked without even realising it! its rather dark here in Guildford today and its still drizzling. we are thinking of bringing the horses in soon :( i dont want to bring them in but they are miserable out so i guess we will have to... beds were made up last week just in case they needed to come in suddenly but we have managed not to yet! poo picking is becoming a pain to do though as the wheelbarrow keeps sinking!!
 
I'm in the Midlands and it's been sunny, dry but chilly here - especially overnight. Still, would rather have it cold and dry than wet and mild.
Heavy rain due here today - not arrived yet though. I hate wet weather - it just seems to make everything take twice as long :(
 
It absolutely poured it down here Monday, literally like someone unzipped the sky and let every bit of water fall down in one go. Dry past couple of days and now its pouring again. Our ponies are currently paddling in their fields and we have one lame pony who slipped over in the gateway which is just mud, mud, mud and more mud. Everything takes twice as long trying to sort the field in the mud/under water.

My two have already had their legs dipped again in oil to stop any mud fever! I didn't have to start oiling until end of November last year.

PLEASE STOP RAINING.

What sort of oil do you use for yours? There was some "Muddy Marvel" for sale at local tackshop last week, drastically reduced as out of date. I bought some. I expect its flying off the shelves now; if anyone can get there without using a boat that is!

Yeah, it feels like some silly b@stard has "unzipped the sky", or as the guy up the road when he saw the water pouring down the road, like a Bl@ddy big elephant just P!ssed itself somewhere! :)
 
Been wet here in Hereford for what feels like weeks! Probably hasn't been but my paddock that 2 of mine are in isn't draining so the water is sat on top and the gateway is a bog :( going to start bringing them in soon just to try and get their feet dry over night!

Now you know what it's like to live in Scotland. And it's like that all the time, summer and winter !(sometimes we get a few fine weeks in March and April...) :D. We iz hardcore, up here (hardcore with puddles, actually ;)).

Lol...one big elephant! I just put a thick layer of sudocrem on their heels all the way up to the ergot and then pour either vegetable oil or baby oil on all the way up to their knees (in the depths of proper winter mud:eek:). Legs get hosed and left to dry out once a week before re oiling. Vegetable oil is a whole lot cheaper than baby oil and pretty much every mud fever product on the market. Didn't have one scab or soreness from mud fever last year and my 2 lived out 24/7:D

It was PROPER foggy in cornwall this morning too.....then the rain came back....again....
Sorry to tell you but its here to stay (if long range forecast is to be believed) for the next 8 days at least.
 
I'm in North Devon, river has burst it's banks, horses been swimming around the field today and were very happy to come in this evening, it's still raining steadily now, dreading looking out the window in the morning.

Very miserable here but should feel fortunate compared to many who's houses have flooded etc :rolleyes:
 
I'm in SW and horses haven't been allowed in the fields for a week now. I can't see them being allowed out next week either at this rate.
I just want it to stop raining long enough for me to waterproof my boots - can't do it when they're constantly wet.
Poor pony is off work at the moment - it wouldn't be so bad if she could enjoy herself in the field but she's stuck in 24/7.
